A typical application for our custom solutions is chimney sealing with an inflatable ball valve . In collaboration with Buitink Technology , FabriQ Innovation AS offers an effective method for temporarily sealing chimneys – especially when regular valves are not sufficient.

The challenge

In many industrial processes, chimneys are temporarily out of service. The inlet is often closed with conventional valves, but these usually have small leaks that allow steam or gas to escape. To prevent leakage through the chimney, an inflatable ball valve is used, which provides a tight and flexible seal.

Technical characteristics and boundary conditions:

• Maximum temperature: 70 °C

• Exposure: Water vapor with low levels of chlorides and grease

• Maximum pressure in the balloon: < 1 bar

• Space requirements: The valve must be very compact when not in use, so that the chimney can be immediately opened in emergency situations
