Sand-filled underwater seals for demanding marine environments – provided by FabriQ

In addition to inflatable valves and plugs, Buitink Technology , in collaboration with FabriQ Innovation AS , also develops and manufactures robust underwater seals filled with (wet) sand – specially designed for use in demanding conditions at sea.

The seals are manufactured from a strong, waterproof and hydrolysis-proof canvas that can withstand prolonged exposure to seawater. Each unit is equipped with a heavy-duty synthetic zipper and stainless steel (SS) suspension eye, making it fully corrosion-resistant and suitable for permanent use in saltwater environments.

Typical application: Closing pile foundations

Sand-filled seals are used, among other things, to seal the space between a submerged pile and the protective sleeve, to prevent water ingress and reduce algae growth in the structure. The solution is effective, flexible and long-lasting – adapted to maritime and offshore requirements.
