Heat-resistant inflatable valves – supplied by FabriQ

FabriQ Innovation AS , in collaboration with Buitink Technology , offers specially developed inflatable valves that can withstand extreme temperatures – up to 400 °C and more . These solutions are ideal in industrial environments where conventional methods are insufficient or too expensive.

Tailoring to exacting specifications

Our heat-resistant valves are manufactured to customer specifications and can withstand both high temperatures and exposure to chemicals such as sulfur dioxide (SO₂), methanol and styrene. Material selection and construction are carefully tailored to ensure long life and optimal performance.

Typical applications

  • Temporary closure of pipes for inspection, maintenance or repair

  • Sealing chimneys during shutdown of production processes

  • Protection against falling material when working in pipes

  • Permanent integration into high-temperature pipes for maintenance purposes

Full delivery – from valve to operation

FabriQ and Buitink offer complete deliveries that include:

  • Inflatable heat resistant valve

  • Connections, hoses and air systems – including heat-resistant variants

  • Automatic pressure regulation

  • On-site operational support : installation, assembly, dismantling and monitoring

  • Remote monitoring via data connection when needed

Materials we use

The choice of materials is based on the requirements for temperature, pressure and chemical resistance. Examples of materials:

  • Fiberglass and ceramic textiles

  • PTFE and ETFE films

  • PFA, FEP and TPU foils

  • PTFE and silicone coated fiberglass cloth

  • Aluminum foil

Internal testing and quality assurance

We offer thorough testing – either at the customer's premises or in our factory in the Netherlands:

  • Temperature and chemical resistance

  • Maximum air pressure

  • Insertion depth and flexibility

  • 1:1 simulation in a test environment – including piping, bends and connections

This reduces risk and ensures successful installation in the field.

Frequently asked questions

Are there heat-resistant valves for all situations?

Yes, in most cases we can develop a solution that meets the requirements, as long as we have information about the environment, pressure, temperature and purpose.

What needs to be prepared before installation?

The valves are compact and can often be inserted through small openings. A valve with a 150 cm diameter can be placed through an opening of just 25 cm.

Are the valves suitable for permanent use?

Yes. We have supplied valves that are permanently integrated into piping systems and connected directly to compressed air systems.

How many times can a valve be used?

Many of the valves can be reused multiple times. For specific purposes, some models can be disposable, but still provide significant added value compared to alternative solutions.

What are the available sizes?

We have supplied valves ranging from a few centimeters to several meters in diameter – including multi-chamber valves for optimal sealing.

What is the maximum pressure the valves can withstand?

It depends on the specific situation. We map parameters such as pressure, temperature, duration and geometry in collaboration with the customer to develop a customized solution.

How do we ensure that the solution works?

We can reproduce the entire pipe system in a test environment before delivery. Everything from insertion and inflation to dismantling can be simulated and verified prior to installation.

What is the maximum temperature the valves can withstand?

We have delivered solutions that have withstood temperatures of up to 500°C for up to 50 hours . Temperature tolerance and operating time are determined in each individual project.
